Building and Launching the Blue Health Curriculum: From Vision to Certification
Aug 13, 2025
When Allison Bishop-Berner approached us with her vision for a new certification program based on the healing power of water, she had an outline, a powerful concept, and years of experience delivering ocean-based therapeutic sessions. What she didn’t have yet was a fully built course — the text, materials, graphics, platform setup, community experience, and sales funnel needed to bring her vision to life. Our agency stepped in to transform that outline into a comprehensive, professional program. Today, the Blue Health Curriculum is a fully realized certification course training therapists and wellness practitioners worldwide to lead evidence-based, water-centered therapy sessions.
Turning an Outline & Years of Experience into a Complete Curriculum
When we began, the curriculum existed only as a framework of ideas. We worked directly with Allison to turn those concepts into a robust, structured learning experience. Together, we designed modules that communicate the themes that make up the Blue Health Program (Connection, Play, Love, Resilience, Balance, Flow, Letting Go, and Service) and built lessons, exercises, and facilitator materials around each theme.
For each module, we wrote original course text, developed facilitator scripts, and created practical activities designed for therapists to implement immediately with their clients. We also added visual and instructional assets — worksheets, checklists, and handouts — so therapists would have turnkey resources to run effective water-based sessions. Each activity was paired with learning objectives and guidance to help practitioners understand the “why” behind the “what,” making the course both practical and grounded in theory.
Integrating Multiple Therapeutic Modalities
We ensured that every part of the Blue Health Curriculum blended Blue Mind theory with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic experiencing, and polyvagal-informed techniques. This multidisciplinary approach reflects the reality of therapeutic practice and allows participants to use water-based interventions to help clients move from “red health” (stress, agitation) or “grey health” (burnout, numbness) into “blue health” — a calm, mindful state where self-awareness and healing can occur.
By designing the curriculum around the interplay between these modalities, we gave practitioners a toolkit they could adapt to diverse client needs and environments. Whether a therapist works at the ocean’s edge, by a quiet lake, or even with indoor water features, they can apply the same principles and achieve powerful results.
Course Build and Design in Kajabi
We then moved from curriculum development to platform build-out. Using Kajabi, we created a complete online learning experience that included:
-
Course Hosting: Eight self-paced modules with embedded videos, activities, and resources.
-
Downloadable Assets: Worksheets, facilitator guides, and scripts for every session theme.
-
Community Integration: Direct connection to the Blue Health Collective, a private online community for networking, discussion, and support.
-
Sales Page & Offers: A polished landing page, enrollment system, and automated email sequences to drive sign-ups.
We handled graphic design and layout, creating a cohesive look and feel across all course materials, sales collateral, and community spaces. This branding work ensured a seamless, professional experience for students from the moment they landed on the sales page to their first login on the platform.
Building the Blue Health Collective Community
We knew from the outset that this certification program wasn’t just about information delivery — it was about community. We built the Blue Health Collective inside Kajabi as a dedicated hub where certified therapists and trainees could share ideas, post successes, and access ongoing support.
The Collective offers:
-
Articles and resources
-
Opportunities to train and deepen skills
-
Networking and referrals to grow practices
-
Videos showcasing Blue Health exercises and honoring the roots of the Blue Mind movement
This community dimension creates long-term engagement and support beyond the eight-week course and helps therapists build confidence as they implement water-based sessions in their own practices.
A Successful First Cohort Launch
Because we built everything from the ground up — curriculum, platform, community, and marketing assets — Allison was able to launch her first cohort of the certification program smoothly. The initial group of therapists and wellness professionals went through the eight-week training with clear guidance, structured materials, and a supportive network.
Participants came away not just with a certification but with a comprehensive toolkit of exercises and a deeper understanding of the healing power of water. Feedback from the first cohort confirmed what we suspected: there was a hunger for structured, research-informed training in this emerging therapeutic field.
The Rebrand: From Blue Mind to Blue Health
Following the first successful cohort, Allison decided to rebrand the program from Blue Mind Curriculum to Blue Health Curriculum to better reflect its scope and her own leadership of the movement.
We managed this rebrand end-to-end:
-
Updated all course text, visuals, and materials to reflect the new Blue Health branding.
-
Refined language to minimize the emphasis on Dr. Nichols while still acknowledging his contribution.
-
Incorporated input from another therapist to enhance the curriculum with new evidence-based practices.
-
Relaunched the course with an upgraded landing page and new marketing messaging targeting therapists, wellness coaches, and healers.
Upgrading the Course with New Research and Techniques
During the rebrand, we also added advanced training on polyvagal-informed techniques, giving practitioners even more tools for helping clients regulate their nervous systems in water-based environments. This upgrade aligned with the growing interest among therapists in somatic and nervous-system-based approaches to healing.
The revised curriculum now walks participants through not only how to conduct the eight core Blue Health sessions but also why specific exercises work, backed by neuroscience and clinical best practices. This dual focus on theory and practice elevates the course to a higher professional standard.
Marketing and Enrollment Support
In addition to the course build, we supported Allison with marketing strategies to reach new therapists and wellness professionals outside her existing email and social media networks. This included:
-
Creating a new landing page in Kajabi with persuasive, research-informed copy.
-
Drafting automated email sequences for lead nurturing.
-
Launching the Blue Health Starter Kit PDF as a lead magnet to bring fresh prospects into the funnel.
-
Providing consultation on partnerships, podcast appearances, and paid outreach strategies.
By combining high-quality content with thoughtful marketing, Allison could extend her reach and build a robust pipeline for future cohorts.
The Eight-Session Blue Health Program
The rebranded Blue Health Curriculum certifies therapists to deliver a complete eight-session Blue Health Program:
-
Connection
-
Play
-
Love
-
Resilience
-
Balance
-
Flow
-
Letting Go
-
Service
Each session follows a tested structure of pre-session activities, in-water experiences, and post-session reflections. This framework gives therapists confidence and clarity, ensuring a consistent, high-impact experience for their clients.
A Platform for Expansion
By creating the initial course and community infrastructure, we also gave Allison a foundation for future growth. Two more courses are scoped out; soon we'll build both BHC 2 – Blue Health Advanced Theory and BHC 3 – Blue Health Polyvagal-Informed Techniques, both of which provide a clear pathway for offering advanced certifications and specialty trainings.
Because the Kajabi platform and branding we built were designed to scale, it’s easy to add new modules, courses, or community spaces without starting from scratch. The result is a long-term, sustainable system for delivering high-quality education to therapists worldwide.
Honoring the Roots, Leading the Future
Although Blue Health draws inspiration from Blue Mind theory, it has evolved into its own comprehensive, therapist-led certification program. Allison’s work on the beaches of Palm Beach with Stoked On Life PB demonstrates the power of these methods firsthand — from surf therapy and sound therapy to mindfulness walks and service-based activities. By codifying these practices into the Blue Health Curriculum, she’s making them accessible to practitioners everywhere.
Conclusion: A Successful Partnership and a Bright Future
Building the Blue Health Curriculum from scratch — and then rebranding and upgrading it — was an ambitious project. Together, we created a world-class certification program, a thriving community, and a marketing engine to support ongoing enrollment.
Today, therapists and wellness professionals across the country are learning to bring water-based therapy to their clients in structured, evidence-informed ways. The program’s eight-session framework, combined with the Blue Health Collective’s ongoing support, ensures graduates have both the knowledge and the network to succeed.
Allison Bishop-Berner’s vision for water-centered healing is now a living, growing curriculum with a clear identity and a global reach. We’re proud to have played a part in building, branding, and launching the Blue Health Curriculum, and we’re excited to see how it continues to transform lives — therapist by therapist, client by client, and ripple by ripple.
